Marine Research Stations

The University of Gothenburg has a number of well-equipped marine research stations and research vessels, which are used by researchers and teaching staff at the Department of Marine Sciences. The marine infrastructure is part of the Sven Lovén Centre for Marine Infrastructure, a national and international resource for marine sciences research.

The centre consists of the two research and teaching stations on Tjärnö and at Kristineberg, and the research vessel R/V Skagerak. A brand new research vessel will also be built.
