About Gunnar Cervin

Principal research engineer with the main responsibility for the chromatographic and mass spectrometric instrument park within the project group. Supervision, service and method development on the same. Research area being chemical interactions among marine organisms and aquaculture of macro algae.

Research and specialisation

We study the chemical interactions of interest for the ecology among marine organisms. Signals that might protect against predation, grazing or biofouling, as well as signals stimulating apecific reactions among organisms. My main role within the project group is today more of a natural product chemist (mainly being a biologist), with the technical responsibility for our machine park which today consists of several HPLC with UV-, RI-, Flu- and MS- (QTOF and QQQ) detectors and a GC-MS.

Within aquaculture of macro algae, my responsibility is the development of technical aspects of cultivation and harvesting
